"Alone In The White Silence" is a romantic take on Time Travel. It is a love story that spans time and space.
John Lanton is given a special anniversary gift, an antique watch that has been modified with voice commands and features, some of which are mysterious. One such feature is the capacity to take the wearer to any time specified. John does not realize this until it is too late. He is brought back to the time of his grandfather's birth, alone, and without friends and clueless of how to get the watch to bring him back forward.
"Under the Bridge" is a story of a person walking through Present day LA who begins to notice unusual things, the first of which is a large shirtless man who appears to be homeless which causes him to ask "Who would feed this guy?"
He begins to notice then the signs for missing pets, nad the disappearing panhandlers along Figueroa St. When he asks people about the weird man under the bridge, no one seems to know when he is talking about. After staking out the homeless man's area where he hangs out, Thomas sees for himself what happens to the stray animals and find he must find a way to end the disappearances before it is too late.
For every good novel idea, there are at least ten or more good short story ideas out there. They are like appetizers, or a fine break from the longer material. My short stories usually tend to be of the Twilight Zone variety. Like with my art, my fiction tends to take some commonplace things and make them somewhat extraordinary. I would not be a bit surprised if somewhere along the line my work became part of an "Outer Limits" episode or something similar.
