Whether I am drawing, or at the computer, I feel like I have arrived home. My art work is like visiting my own little world. In the words of Steven Wright, "they know me there." Ever since the early days of grade school where I signed my name "Bubbles" Gleeson, my creativity has been a source of pride and a welcome escape of the world of boring lectures.
The popularity of greeting cards rests in the fact that they are an acknowledgement of someone else's existence, and that they are important. I created greeting cards over the years as well to show my appreciation of family and friends in ways t hat only I knew how.
"What's In A Name?" Certainly it is more than meets the eye, which is why so many of us have nicknames. As I mentioned in grade school I was called Bubbles, but I have got many other names as well (some of which I care not to repeat). Name art is a commercial attempt to capitalize on the uniqueness each of us brings to our name.
There is nothing quite like good album art and it is one of the selling points of traditional music in the form of vinyl albums and CD's (eight tracks and cassette art notwithstanding). For appreciation purposes I have created some CD album art as well for a number of privately used collections I have assembled
Weddings, Funerals, 60th Birthdays, Family reunions are special times to spend with family, friends, loved ones, and people who seem to crawl out of the woodwork. I have been fortunate in some of those times to create invitations and programs for these special occasions.

I wrote an illustrated a children's book with my niece and nephew in mind (see the badly written poetry to get an example of this). I plan to also pen a few more books in the future, but for now enjoy this sample of another unpublished work I have under my belt.
I have a person who appreciates good humor though I may not be able to express it all the time. Over the years as well I have dreamed of getting syndicated as a cartoonist that is about as likely as winning the lottery. Here are a couple of cartoons I created for that unlikely purpose.
I also in addition to my more commercial efforts have a desire to create very detailed albeit surreal works of art. The digital canvas is my media, and I like it precisely because it is not as messy as painting. Here are three "digital" creations to get a peek inside my rather strange, yet familiar, imagination.
This goes under the subhead of cheesy merchandising. This is the part of my web site devoted to a number of buttons and stickers I devoted to my favorite seventies dance club "Have A Nice Day" cafe. An added bonus is a number of different buttons concerning the Saint Patrick's Day long time tradition of drinking and being Irish for a day.

If only I had gotten this image copyrighted when I had created it before the last Star Wars film. I could have sued George and maybe gotten myself a nice cushy job at ILM
No art exists in a vacuum. Here are a number of influencs for my works of art and design:
Salvador Dali
Gary Larson
Charles Schultz
George Lucas
Don Martin
Mad Magazine
Jim Davis
I am sure if I sat down and really thought about it, I could come up with at least ten more to go along with that list.
